Over the course of 2021, various artists have released top notch songs but which have actually impressed over the course of 2021. Welcome to the second out of the four week analysis of 2021 music. This week we shall be focusing on the twenty best songs out of 2021 worldwide. Let’s hop into it
HONOURABLE MENTIONS
Caroline – Arlo Parks
Arlo Parks is an eccentric storyteller. “Caroline” is a song that talks about a couple having a misunderstanding which spirals into the wife threatening to leave causing the husband to panic and scream “Caroline… I Swear To God I Tried”. A very calm and interesting song from Arlo Parks.
Holiday – KSI
British YouTuber KSI really outdid himself this year. A handful of his album was leaked but he still managed to release a worthy album in “All Over The Place”. “Holiday” being one of the standout tracks from the album will make your lover melt. The love influenced pop song peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart and proved he is capable of creating chill songs and not the usual rap songs he is known for.
Beautiful Lies – Yung Bleu & Kehlani
Yung Bleu came into limelight with his song “You’re Mines Still” with Canadian rapper Drake. He then went on to release “Moon Boy”. “Moon Boy” is stacked from top to bottom with hits but “Beautiful Lies” stood out. It was a song that he held his own against the featured artist while vibing almost perfectly to the beat.
Quicksand – Morray
Morray is an American rapper who proved that it is possible to be a gang member and still make melodies strong enough to sweep you off your feet. Quicksand is a soulful rendition of Morray’s times in the gang he is a part of. Songs like this are meant to be scary and/or horror filled but Morray manages to make the song melodious that if attention is not paid, you could get lost in the melodies
THE SHINING – Vince Staples
Vince Staples has a habit of releasing short but enviable projects. In 2021, he released his project “VINCE STAPLES” and it is nothing short of excellent. “THE SHINING” is a standout song from the project as Vince uses his melodious voice over a calm beat to give renditions about his life and the music industry.

20. Saturday – twenty one pilots
Twenty one pilots made a comeback in 2021 with their album “Scaled and Icy”, and “Saturday” is a masterpiece. A song made about having fun, nothing more/.
19. Lady of Namek – Tory Lanez
Tory Lanez blew everyone awa with his “Alone at the Prom” project. Stacked with 5 star songs from top to bottom, Tory Lanez took us back to the 80s with this project. “Lady of Namek” managed to stand out in the tsunami of hits found in this album.
18. RAPSTAR – Polo G
There seems to be nothing stopping Polo G. Reaching mainstream with his single “Pop Out” in 2019, he has steadily used his melodic style to garner a worldwide fanbase. “RAPSTAR” marks his most popular release to date as he focuses on his extravagant lifestyle while maintain seriousness on issues such as his past, heartbreak, personal battles, and so on.
17. Doris Terrace – Quinn XCII & Jeremy Zucker
“Doris Terrace” is a soulful rendition from Quinn XCII reflecting on struggles of life that could bring him down but remembers that the sun will still shine no matter what.
16. Bouncin’ – Tinashe
“Bouncin’” is an incredible R&B song. Tinashe outdid herself in the creation of this song. The song had a second version but the first version remains the most acceptable with the beat being soft and her vocals mixing perfectly with it.
15. Die Fast – Ruth B.
Ruth B’s “Moments In Between” is a love masterpiece. “Die Fast” is a ballad recognizing her lover stating her will not die fast.
14. Old Habits – Rag’n’Bone Man
Need some country music packed with content and meaning, then look no further than “Old Habits” by Rag’n’Bone Man. Rag’n’Bone Man manages to use nothing more than guitar strings and his voice to create this lovely track. Talking about an individual who refuses to give up his old habits despite all the wrongs, Rag’n’Bone Man created a song that is worthy of replay anytime anyday
13. Pillows – Emanuel
There are few songs released in 2021 as chill, peaceful, and calming as “Pillows” by Emanuel. This song is extremely calming and peaceful. If you are tensed up or stressed out put this song on and watch your body magically calm down.
12. Kiss Me More – Doja Cat feat. SZA
Doja is a specimen. She manages to perform R&B and Pop styles effortlessly. “Kiss Me More” is a perfect example as both she and SZA are R&B artists but they managed to make one of the best pop songs of 2021.
11. Finally – James Vickery
For an artist who is partially deaf and can’t hear the pitch of his voice, James Vickery personifies the saying “ability in disability”. “Finally” is a song off his very impressive project “Songs That Made Me Feel”. This beautiful rendition is powerful enough to make even the weakest of relationships feel a spark. His pitch changes often through the song but somehow they all manage to make the song better than if it was a single pitch all through.
10. Titan – Kenny Mason feat. Angel White
Edward Kenneth Green Jr. is one of the best out this generation. His ability to fuse alternative rock and R&B to form a new wave of rap. “Titan” proves this as he manages to rock, sing, and rap all at once in one song. The mammoth track is chill in nature but still packs a punch in totality.
9. Born Again – Leon Bridges & Robert Glasper
A heavily influenced instrumental jazzy song about a lover. Anything more to say?
8. INDUSTRY BABY – Lil Nas X & Jack Harlow
Lil Nas X keeps making waves whilst being one of the most hated in the industry. Since coming out as gay, he has received nothing but constant hate but he still manages to drop hits. Of all the top songs he dropped this year, INDUSTRY BABY managed to impress the most. The beat, vibe, guest verse from Jack Harlow combines to create a spectacular song.
7. drivers license – Olivia Rodrigo
Olivia Rodrigo is the latest installment in the line of young alternative artists who enjoy creating dark/heartbreak music. “drivers license” is a very nice song. The entire story telling, composition, voice, and overall image the song paints in your head is nothing short of eccentric.
6. Bad Habits – Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran returned to the music scene with his “=” project. One of the best projects to come out of 2021 is stacked with pop hits from top to bottom. “Bad Habits” being the lead single from the album is the song which makes its way to this list. Just listen and see.
5. Stay – The Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber
The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber have an unusual chemistry together, similar to that of siblings. The pitch of their voices are similar, they have similar skin and hair color, and are incredible on pop beats. “Stay” is a perfect example of the chemistry these two have. A love song begging a partner to stay despite all wrong doings he might have committed. The song is hella catchy and incredibly addictive.
4. I Drink Wine – Adele
Adele is one of those artists who refuses to bend to the new generation of music. She sticks to her usual alternative style and to be honest it is still gold. “I Drink Wine” is a 6 minute song showcasing her vocals and composition skills while reminiscing over a lover.
3. My Universe – Coldplay & BTS
The best bands from the past and the present come together to create a one of a kind song. Coldplay were the best British band during the 90s and BTS are the best boyband of the 2020s, mash these two together and magic swirls.
2. Leave The Door Open – Silk Sonic
Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak (known as Silk Sonic) are two incredibly talented artists who decided to come together to show off their voices and bravado in this song. A ballad focused on a leaving the door open to a lover, stating she shouldn’t be scared or afraid of her feelings is worthy to be among the best songs of 2021.
1. Ghost – Justin Bieber
There are very few words that can describe this track. The song is the usual Pop Justin does but the beat and the message he sends out in such a dynamic fashion is incredible. This is arguably the best song out of 2021.
